Stainless steel threaded gate valve
This stainless steel threaded gate valve is designed and manufactured in compliance with both National Standard and ASME ANSI standards, with its main body precision-cast from high-quality 304 or 316 stainless steel. Equipped with standard female threaded connections (NPT/BSPT), it is a straight-through on-off industrial valve mainly used for full open and full close shut-off control of various fluid pipelines, not suitable for throttling regulation, serving as a core on-off equipment for small and medium-sized low-pressure fluid pipeline systems.

Product Overview
The Stainless Steel Threaded Gate Valve is a straight‑pattern gate valve with an all‑stainless‑steel body and female threaded ends. It is designed only for ON‑OFF (open/close) service – not for flow regulation. Compared with cast iron or brass gate valves, the stainless steel version offers excellent corrosion resistance, high temperature capability, and a hygienic surface finish, making it suitable for water, oil, gas, mild acids/alkalis, food, and pharmaceutical media.
The valve uses a wedge‑type single gate (disc) that, when closed, presses tightly against the seats to achieve reliable sealing. Compact and lightweight, it can be screwed directly into threaded pipe connections for easy installation. Available in nominal diameters from DN15 to DN100 (1/2″ to 4″), pressure ratings PN16 to PN40 (Class 150–300), and widely used in chemical, food, pharmaceutical, water treatment, marine, and building services industries.
Product Structure
The Stainless Steel Threaded Gate Valve mainly consists of the following parts:
-
Body: Precision cast stainless steel body in CF8 (304), CF8M (316), or CF3M (316L). Female threaded ends (NPT, BSPT, BSPP, or G threads). Full‑bore or reduced bore (depending on standard).
-
Gate: Wedge‑type single gate (or double gate). The sealing face can be hardfaced with Stellite or machined directly. The gate is lapped with the seats to form a metal‑to‑metal or soft (PTFE‑covered) seal.
-
Seats: Integral or removable seats, with sealing face material matching the gate.
-
Stem: Stainless steel (304, 316) trapezoidal‑thread stem, connected to the handwheel/actuator at the top and the gate at the bottom, converting rotary motion into linear gate movement.
-
Bonnet: Bolted to the body or integral, housing the packing box.
-
Packing Box: Contains PTFE or flexible graphite packing, compressed by a packing gland to prevent external leakage.
-
Handwheel: Cast iron, ductile iron, or stainless steel handwheel, with or without locking device.
-
Stem Nut: Copper alloy or stainless steel nut engaging with the stem trapezoidal threads.
-
Gasket: PTFE or flexible graphite gasket between body and bonnet.
Compact construction; threaded connections eliminate flanges, gaskets, and bolts, allowing quick installation.
Function
-
Media Shut‑Off: Rotating the handwheel turns the stem, lifting or lowering the gate to fully open or close the valve. Fully open, the gate is completely out of the flow path, providing minimal flow resistance. Fully closed, the wedge gate presses tightly against the seats for reliable sealing.
-
Corrosion Resistance: The all‑stainless‑steel body (304/316) resists water, oil, mild acids, alkalis, salt spray, and many chemicals – ideal for corrosive media and sanitary applications.
-
High Temperature Capability: Metal‑sealed versions operate from –29°C to +400°C; PTFE soft‑seated versions from –20°C to +200°C.
-
Bidirectional Sealing: The wedge gate design provides equal sealing pressure in both directions; flow direction is not restricted.
-
Full‑Bore Low Flow Resistance (full‑bore type): When fully open, the valve bore matches the pipe inner diameter, resulting in minimal pressure loss.
-
Easy Threaded Installation: Screws directly into threaded pipe ends – no flanges, welding, or extra fasteners required, saving space and cost.
-
Multiple Thread Standards: Available in NPT, BSPT, BSPP, or G threads to meet different regional standards.
-
Optional Actuators: Can be fitted with electric or pneumatic actuators for remote ON‑OFF control.
Working Conditions
-
Applicable Media: Water, oil, gas, steam, mild acids/alkalis, food fluids, pharmaceutical purified water, solvents, chemical media, etc.
-
Temperature Range: –29°C to +400°C (metal seal); –20°C to +200°C (PTFE soft seal).
-
Pressure Rating: PN16, PN25, PN40 (Class 150, 300); higher available on request.
-
Nominal Diameter: DN15 – DN100 (1/2″ – 4″).
-
Installation: Female threaded ends; recommended horizontal or vertical (stem up) installation.
-
Typical Applications:
-
Chemical plant corrosive media branch line shut‑off
-
Hygienic pipelines in food & beverage production
-
Purified water systems in pharmaceutical plants

Summary
The Stainless Steel Threaded Gate Valve, with its advantages of all‑stainless‑steel corrosion‑resistant body, wedge gate bidirectional sealing, and easy threaded installation, is an ideal shut‑off valve for small to medium bore pipelines handling corrosive, sanitary, or high‑temperature media. Compared with flanged gate valves, the threaded version requires no flange gaskets or bolts, offering faster installation, smaller footprint, and lower cost.
Compared with ball valves, the gate valve provides near‑zero flow resistance when fully open, making it suitable for pressure‑sensitive systems. This valve is designed for fully open or fully closed operation only – not for flow regulation. With female threaded ends and optional manual or automated actuators, the Stainless Steel Threaded Gate Valve is an economical and durable solution for ON‑OFF pipeline systems that demand reliable shut‑off and handle corrosive, hygienic, or high‑temperature media in small to medium diameters.
