Product Overview
Socket welded ball valve is a compact ball valve featuring socket welded (SW) connection. It usually has a forged body and is available in soft seat and metal seated versions. It is mainly used in small-bore, high-pressure pipelines where tight sealing, high strength and reliable performance are required.
Features & Advantages of Socket Welded Connection
Pipe is inserted into the valve socket and welded directly, making installation quick and easy to align
Short and strong weld joints provide excellent rigidity, vibration resistance and shock resistance
No flanges, bolts or gaskets, greatly reducing the risk of external leakage
Compact structure saves installation space, ideal for crowded instrument and auxiliary lines
Suitable for high pressure, small size, clean fluid, high temperature and flammable services
Key Features
Compact Socket Welded Ends
Designed in accordance with ANSI B16.11, for fast and reliable welding. Ideal for small sizes up to DN50 in limited spaces.
Forged Body for High Pressure
Forged steel construction ensures dense material structure and high pressure resistance, suitable for severe working conditions.
Soft Seal & Metal Hard Seal Options
Soft seal: PTFE seat for bubble-tight shutoff in clean media such as water, oil and gas
Metal hard seal: High temperature and erosion resistance, suitable for steam, thermal oil and abrasive fluids
Standard Safety Design
Blow-out proof stem, anti-static device, and optional fire-safe design for hazardous applications.
Flexible Operation
Can be equipped with lever, worm gear, pneumatic or electric actuators for manual and automatic control.
Applications
Power plant boilers, steam and thermal oil systems
Refinery and chemical high-pressure small-bore pipelines
Oil & gas gathering pipelines and instrument impulse lines
Marine, offshore and compressor station systems
Flammable, explosive and zero-leakage required pipelines
Product Summary
With socket welded connection as its core structure, this ball valve offers outstanding benefits including compact installation, high welding strength, low leakage risk and space-saving layout. Combined with a forged body and selectable soft/metal seals, it is highly suitable for small-bore high-pressure, high-temperature, vibrating and space-limited conditions. It is a reliable small-bore valve widely used in petroleum, chemical, power and gas industries.
